Obaie Advanced Rattan Cane Whip

When I satisfied him for the first time, I felt as though I was dealing with a braggart.

Works as it should and gives a good smack that sounds and feels exactly as it should - but I received two that arrived bent. A replacement was sent, but it was even more bent. The boxes they are sent in are simply too short for them, unfortunately. Thankfully, this doesn't matter too much, but it's quite disappointing that an otherwise excellent product is bent on arrival, when it's not in the product images - due to the packaging they come in. :)

Fine little coated cane. Not too thin. If you plan to try a cane once, you can't do much wrong with this one. The first one broke immediately, but I got a new one without discussion. So biggest compliment is for customer service.

At first glance, I was pleased with this. But when I took it out of the box, I felt incredibly dissatisfied. "Core of wood". It is ALL wood with an incredibly thin layer of pvc. It is not flexible at all as I thought. With hindsight, we could have gone out into the forest and picked up a stick that we wrap in some lacquered fabric.

This is the second cane of this kind that I am getting. The first one was worthy of a 5-star review, but this one... Not so much. The cane itself, for SM play, is great. It's not the strongest cane, but you can definitely feel a sting and leave some marks. The quality, on the other hand, is no longer the same as it used to be. For my original one (which I still have), the edges of the rattan were partially covered by PVC. But on the one I just got, the rattan is exposed on both sides. And what is worse: it is frayed. Yes, you guessed it: splinters. Just rubbing the tips of the cane lightly will make some of the wood come off. The rattan edges definitely need some polishing, because the pain I want is not that of splinters getting under my skin. If Obaie goes back to the quality they used to have when I first bought this product, I would HIGHLY recommend it. But after receiving my second one, I'd say maybe go look for a cane with a better finishing.

I bought this Cane with the hope of getting a cheap but capable product to test whipping with the Cane. I was very dissatisfied when it arrived at my home with a bend that unfortunately made it unbalanced in the swing. The quality, despite the price range of the product, feels very cheap, the handle is not particularly comfortable to hold and it feels like the product is going to break with harder whipping. Despite these complaints, the product still does its job, but it doesn't feel like it will be long-lasting. It delivers a lovely sting when used, swishes through the air and leaves fine marks on the skin. I do not recommend the "Obaie Advanced Rattan Cane Whip".

The main purpose of this type of whip is that there should be a sharp sound with a sharp sting of pain without serious injury, but it is possible if you are careless. NOT recommended for beginners. When I got the whip home, I was very interested in it, so after a careful ocular inspection, I rapped myself in the side of the calf. Yes, I felt it. Then I went full force and slapped myself in the same place again, a really good hit it was. However, I did not move a minute even though I felt how unnecessarily much pain exploded around the impact site. (Shock I think it's called) About 15 seconds later, the entire calf and foot went numb. Unfortunately, that peace did not last very long. A burning pain came creeping back. However, everything was manageable but I decided not to patch myself up again. About a week passed and the calf was still a bit stiff after resting or sleeping. The mark on the calf from the self-inflicted injury began to fade and I now felt much more comfortable using more force than before when whipping my partner. As a switch, I can say this product is amazing on both sides. Great to brandish and hit with, but also amazing to be hit by. The pain is just right: localised, stinging, lingering, but not overwhelming. The material is also great, and it feels really nice to hold the handle (which is not only beautiful, but also has great grip). Definitely recommend.

It is a round rod with a plastic casing. From a distance it looks ok, but on closer inspection it gives a cheaper impression. Then there is nothing wrong with the hitting properties, it has quite a good swing and gives good sting. If you want a stick to hit with that also looks good for spectators, this fills the need.
